Meet Dr. Richard Monahan

“I am a firm believer in the power of a smile”

Dr. Richard Monahan believes a smile is the universal language, one that can say a thousand words. That’s why he wants every patient to gain lasting confidence through genuine care and thoughtful dental treatment. He puts patient health and education first, always taking the time to thoroughly answer questions before moving forward with treatment.

Dr. Monahan graduated cum laude with his DMD degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He values lifelong learning and continues to expand his clinical knowledge through programs such as Spear Education, Molis Coaching, and CDOCS. He strives to bring the latest techniques and technology to his general dentistry practice while providing personalized, comprehensive care.

A Pennsylvania native, Dr. Monahan fell in love with the mountains and climate of the west while earning his bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Brigham Young University. He served a two-year church mission in Idaho and Brazil, where he became fluent in Portuguese. He is also fluent in Spanish.

In his free time, Dr. Monahan enjoys hiking, camping, fly fishing, playing saxophone, skiing, and most of all – spending time with his wife and two daughters. Dr. Monahan and his family are excited to call Southern Utah home and look forward to growing their roots in the St. George community.
